By now, the world is aware that Jon “Bones” Jones has been pulled from the UFC 200 card for a positive test reported by USADA from a non-competition sample given June 16, 2016.
He reacts now to the media with his manager Malki Kawa. Although Jones is sounding emotional and in tears about this, he insists that he will try to find the good in this situation. The hard part is…what good will come from this? He is so talented, yet still, has so much to answer for when it comes to his record of drug testing and run-ins with the law.
He is allowed due process and I hope for all fair and just legal proceedings to be given to him and his team. Nevertheless, as a fight fan from The Duke City, I struggle with what kind of legacy he is making, and leaving, for himself in the MMA and greater sporting world.
