Mercedes is showing that they are quick to resolve issues that may hold them back from winning races in this 2014 season. The Mercedes F1 W05 Hybrid, in the hands of World Championship leader Nico Rosberg, continues to head the sister car of Lewis Hamilton, and did so at the historic racetrack in Spielberg, Austria.
What was more amazing is the drive to P3 and P4 from the Williams team with Valtteri Bottas and Felipe Massa, respectively, leading the charge of the rest of the F1 teams who cannot faze the Mercedes works team. Bottas allowed himself to further solidify his popularity at the Williams squad with the first podium of his F1 career.
My beloved Ferrari team was led, once again, by Fernando Alonso, who drove to P5, while Kimi Raikkonen struggled to reach the final points-paying position in tenth for the struggling Italians.
We are now another round closer to the F1 USGP in Austin, coming up in November. Next up on the F1 calendar is Round 9, the British Grand Prix at Silverstone. I do not see another team being able to compete with the downforce of the Mercedes W05 Hybrid, but if anybody can compete with the Germans, it may be the Red Bulls, who cannot afford a showing like they had at their home racetrack in Austria.
Should be exciting! For more news, head to http://www.f1.com.
